Who we are

Bethany Smith, Principal and Co-Founder

Bethany’s professional experience spans over 12 years. Her ability to conceptualize and rapidly prototype ideas helps clients gain a clearer vision and overall consensus of the product or service for implementation. Bethany comes from multiple start-up ventures and vivid studios, a highly regarded online ventures design firm, where she served as a Creative Director for information architecture and design.

At vivid she managed the overall direction and scope of large projects and led complex initiatives involving strategy, operations, design and technology research for such clients as Toyota, OpenAuto.com, and American Century. Previous clients included Warner Bros., Sabre, and military/DOD projects within Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute.

Bethany received a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University School of Design.

Pete Butler, Principal and Co-Founder

Peter has over 10 years of experience as a developer with a record of success designing and implementing innovative, usable web solutions. He is skilled at researching new technologies and in touch with the open source community. His abilities to concept and build rapid prototypes, and implement scalable, mission critical projects has been practiced with clients such as Charles Schwab, Blue Shield and multiple startup ventures.

Peter gained a strong background using key web technologies and techniques as a developer at vivid studios. Peter’s skills range from development-effort scoping, prototype and template development and execution of components and applications. Peter provides researched and recommended alternative and innovative solutions and is an avid participant in the open source community.

Peter graduated from UC San Diego.
